My Design for Life

Sheetal believes Coco Chanel got it right when she said “An interior is the natural projection of the soul”. And this is the very essence that she believe should reflect in her client’s ideas, images and goals, as well as encompassing unexplored possibilities.

It is the desire to tread the road less taken that egged Sheetal to deviate from the thumb rules and always do things differently, and that is where she feels most at home.

For Sheetal, designing is a platform where art meets design meets fashion, culminating in an aphrodisiac for the soul. Colour and texture has always intrigued her. Whether it was during graduation from the reputed Rachna Sansad School of Design, or at the onset of her career with Architect Jami Jambusarwala and Associates, she infused her designs with as many hues as the canvas allowed.

Having garnered adequate professional experience, she decided to follow the calling of her heart and set up her own design studio, allowing to bring homeowners’ visions to life and create the heavenly havens they desire.

My Philosophy

A good design has two parts to it – a great idea and simplicity in execution that brings the idea to life. As a designer, Sheetal is passionate about providing solutions that are unique to each individual space and create concepts that are innovative.

Sheetal likes to keep things simple and functional, transcending her client’s vision into reality. Keeping aesthetics as the key to client’s end goals, her meticulous attention to details ensures, she dedicates time to understanding their requirements, and aspirations, in order to reflect their culture and lives in a suave and refined style.

After all, nothing makes your space more you, than YOU!

3. Is it worth it to get interior design advice and services for a small living space?
An interior designer knows how to use furnishings, colours, and art to make a small space look larger. A strategically placed mirror or light colours of paint can do wonders for increasing visual depth. Additionally, breaking a long narrow room into different seating areas can add dimension. You will be amazed at how well the right interior design can turn your small living space into a functional and homey environment.

4. What is the most important factor when designing a room?
Having a clear vision of what you want is essential. If you are not sure, the services of the interior designer can be priceless. Before you go out and start buying pieces of furniture and artwork that do not mix, get help narrowing down your design and theme. Some colours compliment while others clash. You want your living space to reflect your personality and be functional and inviting at the same time.

5. Do you consider aestheticism or functionality to be more important? Why?
Did you ever have to compromise one for the other?

Both aestheticism and functionality have a vital place in a home. A good interior designer should be able to reconcile the two as frequently as possible, but be sure to watch out for studios who focus too much on aestheticism. Regardless of how the final project will look, it is vital to focus on the functionality of the end results. The client will still need to regularly use the room.

6. Do you welcome client involvement or do you prefer clients to be hands-off?
We welcome input from our clients and ultimately want them to love everything we select for them. We definitely encourage the client’s involvement abreast not hindering our creativity.
